Locating your Apple serial number

If your Mac is usable, it’s serial number can be found by selecting About This Mac from the Apple menu, then clicking twice on the Mac OSX version number text as shown.

If your Mac is not usable, the serial number will be displayed somewhere on the computer casing but the location varies.
