Different Types of Sports
Football
Football is a very popular competitive team sport. The object of this game is to score more points than the other team. You can score points various ways like carrying the ball over the goal line, running with the ball over the goal line, catching a pass while standing behind the goal line and many more ways. Whoever has the most points wins the game. The ball is an oval shaped ball. The game is played on a grass field that is 360 feet by 160 feet. The field is separated by many lines for game play. Each team typically plays with 11 players each on the field.
Baseball
Another competitive team played sport is baseball. This one is played with a bat and a small hard ball. The team with the most points wins the games. Points are calculated by how many players have crossed home plate. One team bats while the other team pitches and plays outfield. After so many strikes, they switch places. The field is diamond shape and made up with grass and dirt. There are 9 players on each team.
Softball
Softball is a lot like baseball. It is played with a bat and a softer version of the baseball. Softball uses the same field as baseball does and has the same rules although softball often has additional bases called safe bases. Safe bases are so the first baseman and the runner do not collide with one another during game play. You will typically see these bases in children’s softball and women’s softball games. Points are also calculated by how many players have crossed home plate. After so many strikes, the teams switch places from outfield to batting.
Basketball
This is also a competitive team sport. Played with a large round ball and a hoop or a basket. The object of this game is to get the ball into the hoop more times than the other team. Each time the ball goes into the hoop points are scored. The value of points depends on where the player is standing when they shoot the ball into the hoop. The court is a solid flat ground with baskets or hoops on each end. There are different size courts depending on who is playing. Regulation court size is 94 feet by 50 feet.
Soccer
Soccer is a competitive team played game. This game is played with a ball that is round and big and two goal nets, one on each end of the field. The object of this game is to score more points than the other team. You score points by kicking the ball into your opponent’s goal net. You are not allowed to use any hands in this game with the exception of the goalkeeper which is the person who guards the goal net. There are 22 players on the field at one time. The field is varied in length from 50 yards to 120 yards, depending on who is playing and what regulations they are using.

Why Should You Invest in Android Apps?
To be honest, a mobile application is an icing on the cake for the user experience, while calls and text messages are the foremost functions of a mobile device. Nevertheless, an app can become the topmost priority for a person, if it is engaging enough. A mobile application can create brand loyalty and help you from falling behind in the competitive market. As a matter of fact, the users want their favorite brands and companies to develop their own mobile applications for a customized user experience. The Mobile application development in India has become a serious business as there is a growing urge to develop and design mobile applications.
A mobile application is the best marketing and communication tool for any business/company in an inexpensive way. Keeping in mind, the importance of mobile application and its usability, you can either choose Android or iOS. Before you develop your app, it is advisable to do a market research on the Android and iPhone app development companies in town to find the right developer for you. All most every entrepreneur might come across this question: Android or iOS? Both the platforms have its own pros and cons. Based on your requirements, choose the right platform for your app.
The green robotic human is known for its lucrative features, affordability and smartphone fragmentation. Unlike Apple, Android has a wide range of devices which makes it the topmost priority in app development. Wait! This isn’t the only reason to choose Android. There are more advantages in developing an Android app. Here’s why:
Android dominates the Indian smartphone market
According to a recent survey, the Android operating system has captured 97 percent of the Indian smartphone market. Currently, India stands as the world’s third largest smartphone market after China and the USA.
Android is only the market which can offer high-quality features at an affordable price for an extensive range of mobile devices. To put it simply, any average Indian consumer can buy an Android smartphone within his/her preferred budget. Due to the market segmentation and affordability, Android still continues to dominate the Indian smartphone market share.
Android offers low barriers to entry
The iOS app development companies must require a Mac desktop to develop the iOS apps. On the other hand, Android app development can be done on a Windows, Linux or Mac. Moreover, Google charges a one-time payment of $25 to register as a developer while Apple charges $99 annually. For an Android app development, all you need is a system and a fee of $25 to start your development process.
Android apps are developed using JAVA
Java is proven to be the most powerful programming language and used for developing a wide range of devices. It is an open source which provides free source code from its Java Development Kit (JDK) to the developers and the added advantage is that it can run on any system regardless of the hardware and software dependency. This powerful programming language is used for developing the native Android apps.
As Android apps are written using the Java programming language, it can be easily ported to other platforms like Symbian, Blackberry, Ubuntu and Chrome OS.
Android is great at customization
Are you tired of the same old widgets? Chill! Download a widget from a third party app and replace it with your stock one. Bored of the same layout? You can download and replace it too. Android allows you to customize your app the way you like it – that’s the foremost reason why developers love developing apps on Android than any other platforms.
Android provides the perfect platform
In the fast-growing app market, the ability to adapt quickly does matter a lot. Android’s Google Play Store allows you to update the app within an hour, in response to the user’s feedback while the App Store follows the same lengthy process to submit your app. You can submit the same app for multiple times on the Play Store while you’ll need at least a week to launch your updated app on the App Store.
Beside the multiple uploads, it also offers Alpha and Beta releases which can be accessed by a set of members to test your app. Based on the feedbacks from the testers, you can rectify the errors and/or incorporate some features before it reaches the actual users. Thus, Android provides the perfect platform to test your app.
Android is profitable
Yes! You heard it right. The general assumption is that the iPhone users are rich to make in-app purchases, and thereby it generates more revenue than Android. But this isn’t true anymore. Android developers can generate revenue through initial app purchases, in-app purchases and from the most profitable way-app ads.
According to a survey by DAU-UP, the average revenue per user for Android games was just 20% by January 2010. Surprisingly, it has reached to 65% by the year end. Moreover, the advertising cost are 20-50% lower on Android apps, which can eventually be more profitable than the iPhone apps.
Now that you are aware of the benefits of investing in the Android app, you can develop your app on this most promising platform to stay ahead in this competitive market. Due to its usability and affordability, Android still remains unbeatable and continues to rule the smartphone market. Remember, developing an Android app isn’t an expense. It’s an investment!

Stuart Gordon’s From Beyond (1986): Pineal Pressure
Released one year after his immortal Re-Animator and reuniting actors Jeffrey Combs and Barbara Crampton, Stuart Gordon’s 1986 sci-fi/horror blend From Beyond is also an adaptation of an HP Lovecraft story. It has the same cool look and feel of Re-Animator and IMO is every bit as good, it should please fans of both the science fiction and horror genres who have a strong stomach and a yearning for something different. Intelligently scripted for the screen, it offers some real insight into psychology and the human brain in general while delivering the slimy, gory goods, and with a much heftier budget than Re-Animator, you can be sure a lot of the budget went into designing the cutting edge special effects by Mark Shostrom (among others). It’s very stylishly lensed by Mac Ahlberg, is briskly paced, features another terrific Richard Band score and a nice splash of pitch black humor throughout.
The storyline of From Beyond concerns the “resonator”, an experimental machine created by sociopathic genius Dr. Edward Pretorius (Ted Sorel) and his physicist lab assistant Crawford Tillinghast (Jeffrey Combs) that when activated puts every person near it into a hallucinatory trance that stimulates the pineal gland in the human brain and allows him or her to experience a “sixth sense”, an alternately euphoric and terrifying alternate reality populated by deadly flying creatures and other atrocities. One night Edward and Crawford run the machine after perfecting it, but something goes horribly amiss when the two men begin to sense the presence of something unknown but unmistakably dangerous… and next thing we know, Dr. Pretorius mysteriously ends up on the floor of the lab without a head. The police take Crawford into custody, and he is admitted to a local mental institute pending an investigation. After babbling his mad tale to the police and to Dr. Bloch (Carolyn Purdy-Gordon, talented actress and wife of the director, who also appeared in Dolls and as a surgeon in Re-Animator), the respected Dr. Katherine McMichaels (Barbara Crampton) is brought in to examine Crawford and formulate an expert opinion on his mental state.
After interviewing the troubled physicist in his hospital cell, Dr. McMichaels convinces the head of the institute to release Crawford into her care so they can return to the Tillinghast house and recreate the experiment, and the two are joined by former football pro Bubba Brownlee (Ken Foree) who has been designated by the hospital to act as an escort during the experiment for the safety of Dr. McMichaels. Needless to say, all hell breaks loose when they get there and switch on the dangerous machine, and when they do they discover that the sixth dimension is now ruled by the twisted mind of Dr. Pretorious, who manifests in various grotesque forms each time the curious three try the experiment. After getting closer and closer to horrible deaths at the hand of Dr. Pretorious in the alternate reality, they decide the machine must be destroyed for the safety of themselves and others, since it is now known that each trip they take makes Pretorious stronger and closer to being able to manifest in everyday reality… but like a drug, they find they’ve become addicted to the pineal stimulation and that stopping Pretorius will be harder than they thought. To make matters worse, Crawford — after repeated exposure to the pineal stimulation of the resonator — has a disturbing new symptom in the real world: His pineal gland has elongated and burst through his head, forcing him into the sixth dimension permanently.
The acting in From Beyond is uniformly top-notch. Jeffrey Combs plays the hell out of his neurotic role, and Barbara Crampton is in a class of her own as the beautiful, ambitious psychiatrist. Veteran horror star Ken Foree of Dawn of the Dead is terrific as Bubba and has a memorable death scene that has him trapped in the alternate reality of the resonator and being eaten alive by a swarm of flesh-eating insects. Ted Sorel handles his villainous role grandly and scores a ten in a role that was originally intended for David Gale, who played a similarly evil role in Re-Animator. Carolyn Purdy-Gordon rounds out the talented cast as Dr. Bloch and has a really gruesome death when Crawford — after being returned to the hospital after recreating the experiment and finding that his wormy gland has a taste for warm human brains — bites her eye off and lets his twitchy gland suck out her brains. (Note that this scene is heavily censored of all gore in the R-rated version, which is one minute shorter than the more common unrated version.)
From Beyond remains a longtime favorite of mine and many others. I actually saw this years before I saw Re-Animator, so I realize there’s some nostalgia factor kicking in there, but there’s no denying that this is an expertly crafted horror film that has all the right elements and is enormously entertaining. I consider it on par with Re-Animator and rate it an 8.5 of 10.

How To Make Music Like Bonobo – 3 Tips To Start With
This article points out three simple tips on how to make music like Bonobo. Having transcended both chill-out and downtempo genres, Simon Green aka Bonobo is known for his unique sound that mixes a variety of music instruments and styles. Although it is probably impossible for anyone, except for Bonobo himself, to create exactly the same kind of music, following are some suggestions that outline the basic elements needed for producing something similar.
1. Get a computer and a Digital Audio Workstation
Before you can start putting together your musical pieces, you will need a computer with a piece of software called the digital audio workstation aka DAW. Just like a photo editing software lets you edit image files, a DAW enables you to edit and mix audio files.
Now, there is a huge variety of different programs, both for Windows and Mac. While all Macs already have a free digital audio workstation installed on them, called GarageBand, Windows users can choose between such free alternatives as Audacity, Kristal Audio Engine, and Wavosaur.
In addition, there are also the paid versions, like the Fruity Loops, Pro Tools, Cubase, Logic, Reason, just to name a few. Bonobo himself has been a Logic user for a number of years.
2. Get some acoustic loops
If you listen to Bonobo’s music, you will most likely notice how the tracks often consist of shorter repeating musical ideas, played by an acoustic instrument. For instance, his song “Black Sands” begins with a repeating guitar melody, which is later mixed together with other loops, such as a double bass loop, drums, hand clapping, and so on. Though all those loops slightly vary in their length, Bonobo has put them together into one whole, creating a full-length track.
To get your loops, you can download them from the internet. There are both free and paid versions. Preview the samples and find the one that suits your taste, containing the instruments and sounds that you would like to start with. Of course, if you can play an instrument, there is also the possibility of recording your own loops. Nevertheless, after getting loops either by downloading or by recording yourself, you can begin with the most creative part on how to make music like Bonobo.
3. Play around with those loops
Once you have a few loops, open them in your digital audio workstation, and start playing around with them. If you are new to audio editing and mixing, it might be a good idea to start simple, by experimenting with two or three loops in one project. After you have made your first tracks, it will be probably much easier to scale up on the number of loops involved in your project, enabling you to create more complex tracks. Having fun with this step will teach you a lot about how to make music like Bonobo.

CSV vs XML vs JSON – Which is the Best Response Data Format?
Whether you are building a thin client (web application) or thick client (client-server application) at some point you are probably making requests to a web server and need a good data format for responses. As of today, there are three major data formats being used to transmit data from a web server to a client: CSV, XML, and JSON. In order to develop an application with a solid architecture, it’s a good idea to understand the differences between each format and know when to use them. The purpose of this post is to define each data format, lay out the pros and cons for each, and discover which situations work best with each format.
CSV
CSV stands for “comma separated values”. As the name implies, this data format is basically a list of elements separated by commas. Let’s say that your response is sending back a list of people in a particular family. The format would look like this:
Eric,Andrea,Kusco
Pros – This format is the most compact of all three formats. Generally speaking, CSV formats are about half the size of XML and JSON formats. This is the major advantage of CSV because it can help reduce bandwidth
Cons – This format is the least versatile of all three formats. This is because a homemade parser is required to convert the CSV data into a native data structure. As a result, if the data structure changes, there is an associated overhead of having to change or even redesign your parsers. Furthermore, since the program creating the CSV and the program parsing the CSV reside on different machines (remember that we are passing data from one machine to another) then both programs must be updated simultaneously to prevent the receiving program to crash. Otherwise, an outage is required to update both programs individually to prevent incompatibility issues.
Finally, CSV does not really support data hierarchies. What if you wanted to send back attributes for each person in each family? You would then have to design a complex parser that knows which parts of the CSV are referring to elements of a family, and which parts are referring to elements of each person. One way to solve this problem is to use another delimiter like “;” to separate each person’s attribute:
Eric;male;26,Andrea;female;26,Kusco;male;8
The problem with creating customized formats, however, is that you incur an overhead of maintaining an even more complex parser.
XML
XML stands for “extensible markup language”. XML was designed in 1996 and officially became a W3C standard in 1998. It was created to better represent data formats with a hierarchical structure. The format looks like this:
Eric
26
Andrea
26
Kusco
8
Pros – This data format fully supports hierarchical data structures and is very appropriate when receiving complex data as a response. It is also very human readable. Most browsers have built in XML readers that allow you to inspect XML files. Since XML was the first standard hierarchical data format, most APIs have built in functionality to automatically convert XML data streams into native data structures like objects.
Cons – This data format is about three times as large as CSV. This is because each data element has an associated open and close parameter tag.
JSON
JSON stands for (Javascript Object Notation). It was invented in 2001 and became popularized by Yahoo and Google in 2005 and 2006. It was created as an alternative to XML. Like XML, however, it represents hierarchical data with the use of commas, curly braces and brackets. An example of JSON looks like this:
{“name”:”Eric”,”age”:”26″},
{“name”:”Andrea”,”age”:”26″},
{“name”:”Kusco”,”age”:”8″}
Pros – This data format supports hierarchical data while being smaller in size than XML. As its name implies, it was also created to more easily parse data into native Javascript objects, making it very useful for web applications. JSON is the best of both worlds with respect to CSV and XML. It’s simple and compact like CSV, but supports hierarchical data like XML. Unlike XML, JSON formats are only about twice as large as CSV formats.
Cons – This data format has a little bit less support than XML. Since JSON is relatively newer than XML, fewer APIs exist to automatically convert JSON to native data structures. However, this is rapidly changing because newer APIs and plugins are supporting both XML and JSON.
Conclusion
As a general rule of thumb, JSON is the best data exchange format to date. It’s light weight, compact, and versatile. CSV should only be used if you are sending huge amounts of data and if bandwidth is an issue. Today, XML should not be used as a data exchange format because it’s better suited for document markups.

The Advantages and Disadvantages to Bug Tracking Software
Bug tracking has been around as early as the 1940’s, just not in a software form. In these early days, simply using a pen and a paper created tracking systems. It evolved from then to using spreadsheets. Now there is bug tracking software like the defect tracking tool and even more specific programs like Mantis and Bugzilla, just to name a couple. As with anything that evolves however, there will always be those that are 100% for the programs and those that are against it. This article will cover all claims – both positive and negative – of bug tracking software like the defect tracking tool.
The Positive Claims
It certainly depends on the type of bug tracking software that is used, but it seems as if there are many more advantages to these tools than disadvantages. The most obvious advantage is that these types of tools allow companies to keep a record of the issues that are recorded, who fixed them, and even how long it took to fix the issue for some types of programs. Customers are encouraged to be as detailed as they can be when requesting that an issue be fixed so that companies can complete their requests as quickly as possible. The fact that the issues are recorded and saved is a huge benefit for the companies because sending the recorded bug list with the purchased software is a common practice. This is a benefit to customers because if it is a common error, they can simply look up this issue in the previously recorded bug list. However, if the list is incredibly long (a common disadvantage) it can become more of a hassle.
The Negative Claims
As with anything that has a list of positive aspects there is also a list of negative aspects, though there are few. One of the biggest complaints is not so much from the bug tracking software or defect tracking tool itself but more from the process of submitting issue requests. Customers need to be extremely detailed with their issue requests if they want a detailed response. Miscommunication isn’t a fault of the product, the customer, or the company – it’s simply something that happens. Customers and companies alike both need to remember to be patient with each other and to treat each other with a mutual respect. A second complaint that was previously mentioned is the length of issues in some of these software programs.
Some customers don’t have the patience to look through a long list of software issues that have been previously recorded and this causes frustration among the companies that took the time to purchase software that saves them. The length of issues that are submitted can also become a problem because if there are too many issues submitted and not enough engineers to address them, some can get overlooked. Nobody likes to be forgotten, but usually these types of bug tracking software include detailed instructions and are easy to use.
Usually when a company purchases a bug tracking software or defect tracking tool it already has an experienced IT department in place. Whatever the software is that is being used with these programs should have some sort of backup for when the work is completed so it does not get lost if the issues that occur are deadly.
